What is the purpose of the stop lever located on the mower handle?
When the lever is depressed, an engine grounding circuit is opened which allows the engine ignition system to operate. Also, a brake is released which allows the engine flywheel and cutting blade to rotate.
When the lever is released, the engine grounding circuit is closed which shuts down the ignition system. The engine brake engages the flywheel and prevents further rotation of the engine and cutting blade.
